Brittany Quiroz (key-rose) – better known to the disability communities as “A Hot MS” – is a testimonial motivating speaker, Christian recording artist, faith-driven entrepreneur and philanthropist dedicated to shining God’s light in the world of multiple sclerosis, chronic illness, and disability.

Quiroz was blessed to receive the 2024 award for Creative Contributor with Health Unions Social Health Awards for her testimonial original song “Never Have My Soul” written with co-writer and Mother Kristen Spath. All proceeds benefited the National MS Society. The single was released on May 30, 2024 in honor of World MS Day. The official music video incorporates over 150 members of the MS community.

Through the gifts God has given her—as a speaker, recording artist, writer, singer-songwriter, disability advocate and content creator—she strives to reshape the perception of what pain can look like while pointing others toward hope, purpose, and faith. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

In 2021 Quiroz founded ART4aCAUSE, a charity project through which she sells her artwork to purchase unique and beautiful mobility aids for those in need. 50% of all proceeds fund this initiative, allowing her to bless others and glorify God through her talents. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” (1 Peter 4:10)

A Journey of Faith Through Adversity

Being diagnosed with a neurological disability at 30 was enough to shake anyone’s world. The shock, fear, and grief were overwhelming, but Quiroz spent years up until this point praying for deeper purpose, leaving Quiroz searching for answers and direction. The second she heard the words “You have MS” she knew this was God presenting an opportunity to her. In her darkest moments, God met her there. “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” (Psalm 56:3)

Since her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2019, her health journey has included a 65% risk of breast cancer—leading to a preventative bilateral mastectomy—as well as diagnoses of plaque psoriasis, IBS-C, and fibromyalgia. Through it all, her faith has remained steadfast.

“Yes, it’s a lot. Yes, some days are terrible. But through Christ, there is always hope. Even in the pain, there is purpose. ‘We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.’ (Romans 5:3-4)”

Quiroz continues to feed her mission to empower, educate, and encourage others to keep pressing forward, no matter the challenges they face. She sees her struggles not as setbacks, but as divine setups for something greater.

“God has a funny way of using what looks like disaster to reveal something incredible. I never saw this path for my life, yet here I am, walking in His purpose.”

Beauty from Ashes: A Story of Redemption

Before her health battles, Quiroz faced another kind of pain—one that left deeper scars than any diagnosis ever could. She is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, wounds that didn’t just bruise her body but crushed her spirit. In her darkest moments, instead of running to God, she ran away. Feeling abandoned, unseen, and unworthy of His love. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

In her pain, she sought control in the only way she knew how—by changing her appearance. She acquired 90% of her tattoos in 13 months, believing that if she looked tough, no one could ever hurt her again. Each mark on her skin became a symbol of her battle, a layer of armor against the world. What she didn’t realize at the time was that God was still writing her story. What she saw as rebellion, He saw as redemption.

Now, Quiroz understands that every part of her journey—every scar, every tattoo, every moment of running—was being used for His purpose. Her exterior may tell one story, but her heart tells another. Don’t judge a book by its cover. God uses the unexpected, the broken, and the battle-worn to shine His glory. “People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

Today, Quiroz shares her story not as a victim, but as a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

“He met me in my brokenness and turned my pain into purpose. No matter how far I ran, He never let me go.”

“You are not forgotten. I have called you by name; you are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)

Finding Joy and Purpose in the Journey

With a bold, unfiltered speaking style, Quiroz brings transparency, humor, and encouragement to those walking similar paths. From laughing at the unpredictability of chronic illness to embracing vulnerability in the hardest moments, she reminds others that joy is still possible—even in suffering. “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

A lifelong singer-songwriter, she has used her musical talents to spread a message of God, motivation, empowerment, and strength. Writing alongside her mother and co-writer, Kristen Spath, for over 15 years, her mission has never been clearer: to uplift, to inspire, and to glorify God through every trial and triumph. The two together formed [8:28] to use their music to minister.

“When you change your perception, you change your reality. But when you surrender your reality to God, He changes everything.”

Quiroz pushes to break the stigma around disability, to transform adversity into purpose, and to remind the world that no challenge is greater than God’s plan.

“I strive to break the mold. I like to say I’m an advocate for perception. No matter the situation, if we change how we see it, we can take a less-than-perfect reality and turn it into something beautiful, empowering, and full of God’s truth. Because when there’s no pretty way to tell your story, tell the truth—and let God use it for His glory.”
